Nomor 232\/MENKES\/SK\/IV\/1997 tanggal 10 April 1997 tentang Pembentukan 6 (enam) Akademi Kesehatan Lingkungan di Lingkungan Departemen Kesehatan, maka PAM-SKL Depkes Purwokerto berubah nama menjadi AKL Depkes Purwokerto. AKL Depkes Purwokerto dipimpin oleh seorang direktur dengan dibantu oleh tiga orang pembantu direktur. Pada periode ini pimpinan dijabat oleh S Purwanto, MSc, kemudian digantikan oleh Saring Soewarto, SH, SKM (sebagai Plh).<\/p>\n<p><i><b>S<\/b><\/i>aring Soewarto, SH, SKM digantikan oleh Hary Widodo, MSc.
